PUBLIC SCREENING LICENSE
A public screening license is required to show a movie outside your home, whether or not you charge admission and even if you own a copy. Pricing depends on the film, crowd size, venue and date.
We're happy to handle it for you, or you can contact a provider directly. Your own content (slideshows, presentations, home videos) never needs a license.

FAQ
DIY Rent A Screen is $200 for 6 hours. Nebula (20′, fully hosted) starts at $350 for 6 hours, and Optimus (35′) starts at $600 for 8 hours. Final pricing depends on date, location and add-ons. Compare packages.
Both use our 20′ inflatable screen, HD projector and a player. With Nebula we also handle setup, takedown and have staff onsite to run your event, so you don't touch a cable.
At dusk, about 15 minutes after sundown, so the picture looks its best. We arrive ahead of time to set up.
We set up at your location (backyards, parks, schools, churches, venues and parking lots) or can help you host at public venues around Colorado Springs.
Yes, for any screening outside your home unless the film is in the public domain. It's required even when the event is free. Learn about licensing. We can help you get one.
Absolutely: sports games, console gaming (Wii, Switch, Xbox, PS4), karaoke, slideshows, business presentations and showcases. We can connect most compatible devices you bring.
At our public movies in parks, well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome. Venues are often not pet-friendly. For private events, it's your call.
Unless otherwise noted, our public outdoor movies are free to attend. Join the Movie Club to hear about upcoming screenings.
OUR STORY
It started with a bedsheet, a borrowed projector and The Sandlot in the backyard.
My mom and I dreamed of opening an outdoor cinema, inspired by treasured nights at the drive-in. She passed when I was 13. Pikes Peak Cinema is that dream made real, in her memory.
Those early backyard shows became a traveling cinema. Today we bring inflatable screens, HD projection and real sound to backyards, parks, churches and wedding venues all over Colorado Springs. See you at the movies!
